T-Mobile customers can’t access new giveaway app after ‘high demand’ causes server slowdown
Many T-Mobile customers expecting their first freebies as part of the company’s new giveaway app were left disappointed Tuesday morning.
T-Mobile Tuesday, the wireless carrier’s new app revealed on Monday that offers weekly giveaways for food, movie tickets, game gear and other items, ran into what appeared to be server issues on Tuesday morning as customers tried accessing the app.
@TMobile the t-mobile Tuesday app keeps on crashing on me everytime I open it

I can't even download my @TMobile Tuesday app.. There's some type of issues connecting to the server ????

As a T-Mobile customer myself, I was able to download the app this morning and sign up for the program, but experienced similar issues when actually trying to access the deals.
We’ve reached out to T-Mobile and the company directed us to this tweet:
Wow, you guys REALLY like to be 'thanked'! Very high demand on the app – we’re working on it.

The company says the problem is related to “massive latency issues.”
@JSalariTV We're working on getting that fixed, the massive demand has created equally massive latency issues, but you'll #GetThanked *TeriM

The T-Mobile Tuesdays app is part of the company’s latest “Un-carrier” move, which also includes a “Stock Up” program that allocates shares of T-Mobile’s own stock to its postpaid wireless subscribers.
Spurred by the arrival of CEO John Legere in 2012, the “Un-carrier” announcements over the past few years have ranged from unbundling the cost of the phone from a wireless plan to the Binge On streaming deal. They’ve helped T-Mobile add more than 1 million customers in each of the past 12 quarters as the company has established itself as the nation’s third-largest carrier.
