TeenSafe, a service that allows parents to view their kids’ text messages, phone logs, web history, and activity on a variety of apps, was recently updated to include Tinder.

According to Mashable the app allows parents to view their children’s Tinder profiles, likes, skips, matches, and conversations. Tinder is a popular dating app, often criticized for promoting “hook-up culture.” Teens 13 and up can use the app, according to Tinder’s terms of service.

Tinder only shows underage users profiles of potential matches in the same age range but the app doesn’t prevent older users from faking their age.

TeenSafe already allows parents to monitor messaging apps Kik and WhatsApp, as well as Instagram. The software can be used without a child’s knowledge.

“Parents and Guardians have a legal right to monitor their children under the age of 18 if they pay the phone bill,” says TeenSafe. “Every parent’s situation is unique and only a parent can decide whether to inform their teen of their intent to use TeenSafe. Many parents choose to tell their teen that they’re using TeenSafe. This choice is, however, entirely up to the discretion of the parent.”

TeenSafe has been around since 2011 and is used by over 1 million parents, according to Mashable. Before adding Tinder to its suite of apps that can be monitored, TeenSafe advised parents to blacklist the app.
