—Whitepages appointed Whitney Bouck to its board of directors. The former Box vice president is Seattle-based Whitepages‘ third external director and will help guide marketing and business strategy for the identity data collection company.

“We are honored to have a visionary like Whitney on our board of directors,” Whitepages CEO Alex Algard said in a statement. “Her energy is the perfect fit for our culture and her expertise in corporate strategy, business development and customer acquisition will help ensure that as Whitepages continues to grow, we have the right strategy in place to ensure we make the best decisions for the health of the company.”

Bouck is currently serving as chief operating officer at HelloSign, which enables collection of secure electronic signatures. Prior to that, she worked for cloud storage company Box as senior vice president of global marketing and general manager of enterprise.

—IBM hired former AOL president Bob Lord as the company’s chief digital officer. According to an internal memo acquired by Re/code, Lord will run IBM’s digital platform, overseeing digital marketing and its developer ecosystem.

 

At AOL, Lord pushed for many of the company’s automated advertising initiatives, including acquisitions of Millennial Media, Gravity and Convertro. In addition to his time at AOL, Lord had also served as CEO of web advertising firm Razorfish.

—The Washington Technology Industry Association appointed two new officers to the board of directors. Bill Richter joined as the new board chair, while Heather Redman is the second vice chair. Jennifer Shettleroe, the former WTIA chair, and Gil Wootton, the former vice chair, are both remaining on the board as members at large.

“There could be no more exciting time to be part of this technology community,” Redman said. “We are at the very beginning of a new and even larger wave of technological innovation and our region is poised to lead it. The WTIA team is truly world-class and ready for the challenge of advocating for and enabling this innovation.”

Richter is a venture partner at Madrona Venture Group and previously served as president of EMC/Isilon. Redman is the vice president of business operations and general counsel at Indix. She also serves on the board at Summit Power Group and Seattle Chamber, among others.

—Igneous Systems announced two new executive hires. Steve Pao is joining as the data center infrastructure startup’s chief marketing officer. Marc Tanguay is joining the team as vice president of strategic sales. Both will help get the Seattle-based company’s product in users’ hands as Igneous brings its tech to market.

“Steve and Marc are both seasoned executives with whom I’ve personally worked and grown with in my prior companies in both Seattle and Silicon Valley,” said Igneous CEO Kiran Bhageshpur. “As we emerge from our R&D phase, I look forward to working with Steve and Marc to make Igneous a high-growth company.”

Pao previously served as vice president of product management at Latitude Communications as it went through its IPO, and was senior vice president and general manager of the security business at Barracuda Networks as it transitioned to a public company. He has also worked for Oracle, Nuance-owned Visioneer and Asta Networks.

Tanguay joins Igneous from Isilon Systems and NetApp, where he lead strategic sales teams. He also served as vice president of sales for Pillar Data Systems. Igneous raised a $ 23.6 million venture round from Madrona, NEA and others in May 2014.

—Digital Fortress hired Karl Reeves as vice president of operations, overseeing  product roadmap and delivery for Seattle-based cloud infrastructure company.

“What makes Karl unique is his experience in managing and architecting solutions for colocation, on-premise and public cloud environments,” Digital Fortress CEO Matt Gerber said. “His knowledge in both hybrid IT design as well as the AWS and Azure platforms will be invaluable for our midsize customers that are just making the leap from traditional, on-premises-only architecture.”

Reeves will focus on the company’s hybrid IT services, which manages workloads on AWS and Microsoft Azure. He previously held vice president-level positions at Datapipe and 2nd Watch. Before that, he worked at Microsoft in a range of management and technical roles.

—Onvia president and CEO Hank Riner is retiring from his position, according to a filing with the Securities And Exchange Commission.

He will stay in his position until the company finds a replacement. After that, he’ll transition into a yearlong consulting role with the Seattle-based government intelligence company.
