What happens when Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman disguises himself as a Lyft driver and picks up unsuspecting passengers?

Lyft wanted to find out, so the ride-hailing giant teamed up Sherman for the latest version of “Undercover Lyft,” a video series that puts famous athletes like Danica Patrick and Jerry Rice in the driver’s seat to fool riders.

“My name is Richie,” Sherman, donning aviator sunglasses and a hat covering his dreadlocks, tells a rider. “I’ll be the best driver you’ve ever had.”

The NFL star had a number of funny soundbites, including:

• “I like to call myself a connoisseur of football.”
• “I don’t watch the draft until, like, the third day, the fifth round — that’s my favorite spot. That’s the sweet spot.” (Sherman was a fifth round draft pick in the 2011 draft)
• “I just came back from Hawaii with some of my friends. I try to make sure I go every year. There’s like 50 of us. We even see some guys who we don’t really like so much from work, but, I mean, that’s part of the job.” (Sherman is referring to the Pro Bowl)
• “2011 was the first year, and they had this cocky little corner who was a rookie named Richard Sherman.”
• “I like the talking guy, the Richard Sherman guy. He’s OK.”
• “It seems like knows what he’s doing, but at times it’s like, does he?” (Talking about Richard Sherman)

My favorite part is the woman who immediately recognizes Sherman and blurts out “what the f***” just a few seconds after sitting down inside the car.

Sherman, whose second child was born earlier this month, is certainly a busy man off-the-field, inking sponsorship deals with companies like Oberto, T-Mobile, and Amazon while selling merchandise on his site.

Lyft, which just put out its first national TV ad, recently rolled out its Lyft Line carpooling service in Seattle, where it also has an engineering center. The San Francisco-based company, valued at more than $ 5 billion, competes with rival Uber in the ride-hailing transportation industry.
