LAS VEGAS — Samsung’s Gear S2 watches are Samsung’s attempt to compete with the Apple Watch, but up until now they required a Samsung smartphone. Today at CES, Samsung announced that iOS compatibility is coming to Gear S2 smartwatches later this year, making Gear S2 a direct competitor to the Apple Watch and greatly expanding the market reach of these Tizen-based watches.
