Amazon’s smart personal assistant wants you to be fit. Or, at least, it can help you get there.

Alexa, the cloud-powered virtual assistant that mainly lives inside the Echo and Fire TV, can now integrate with Fitbit.

The Fitbit integration announced today lets users ask Alexa about sleeping patterns, active minutes logged and number of calories burned for any day in the previous week. Alexa will even use the knowledge to encourage you to get out and move around if you’re a little behind your on goals.

“Working with Amazon and Alexa to create this new skill provides a completely new and fun way for Fitbit users to stay on top of their health and fitness goals,” Tim Roberts, executive vice president of Fitbit’s interactive department, said in a statement. “As we look at how this integration could evolve in the future, there is an endless world of possibilities from fitness coaching and nutrition tips, to guidance before bedtime to help you get a more restful night’s sleep.”

The move into fitness is part of Amazon’s recent push to add services outside the smart home. While controlling thermostats and lightbulbs are still a big part of Alexa’s appeal, the company is also expanding into credit card payments and connected cars.
