Three high school football programs in Washington will receive a tech-enabled fitness training platform for free thanks to the Seattle Seahawks and a local tech startup.

The Seahawks today announced a partnership with Volt Athletics, a Seattle-based company that uses technology to help athletes improve their fitness.

Volt’s app utilizes algorithms to create prescriptive and specialized strength and conditioning workouts for individual athletes, based on a variety of factors. The idea is to help users build strength and mitigate risk.

The company differentiates itself by focusing on innovating the delivery of training content and expertise, versus only tracking metrics and storing data.

The Seahawks worked with the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) to come up with the three high schools to receive the donation: Renton, John F. Kennedy, and Sumner.

“The Seahawks are taking a proactive approach with the aim of strengthening youth and high school football programs throughout the state, and we’re proud to play a role,” said Dan Giuliani, co-founder and CEO of Volt Athletics, .“Working together, we are able to leverage new technology to make elite-level training available and accessible to these local teams.”

Founded in 2011, Volt now has more than 50,000 athletes and coaches using its software, which is recommended by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. The company inked a partnership with USA Football last year.
